If you want to apply for a PHD at Edinburgh, you should first check the general entry requirements for the programme on the postgraduate degree finder.
The relevant programme page will give you:
- entry requirements
- key contacts
- research profile
- links to academic staff in that subject area
If you are unsure whether your international qualifications are equivalent to the the entry requirements listed on the degree finder, you can email Edinburgh Global for advice.
Find a potential supervisor
It's important that you look closely at the research interests of the staff in the relevant School as soon as possible to see if there is someone whose research matches your own research area. The most important part of the application process is finding an academic member of staff who will agree to supervise you. Once you have found a member of staff who you think would be a good supervisor for you, you should make contact and start a dialogue with them about whether they would welcome an application from you.
